Explore how changing the tool, pressure or paint thickness changes your acrylic marks.

Tips before you begin
Try broad spreads, narrow blade drags, rounded-tip presses, pointed-tip touches, edge scrapes and notched-tool pulls. For more textures, experiment with a card, sponge, comb, cloth, string, bubble wrap, cardboard, dry brush, stippling brush, silicone shaper and texture roller. Use heavy-body acrylic or a compatible texture gel when you want raised ridges. Test on scrap paper, clean tools before paint dries, and let layers dry before adding more.
