A little Mommy & Me art break: watercolor apples with my 3-year-old. 🍎💜

We painted apples together this morning, and she brought her own touch of magic: her beautiful purple princess dress—the one she loves so much.
I love watching her make the project her own. We can start with the same idea and supplies, then finish with apples that each have their own personality. These are the little moments I want to make room for with Mommy & Me Watercolor: time to create together, explore color, and enjoy each other’s company.
Try a little apple art break together
Set out watercolor paper, washable watercolors, a brush, water, and a paper towel. Red, green, and a little brown are all you need to get started.
- Paint a rounded apple shape, leaving a small dip at the top.
- Let your child explore lighter and darker reds by adding more water or more color.
- Add a little stem and leaf, then let the painting dry.
Paint alongside your little artist and give each apple room to look different. Keep the supplies close, supervise little painters, and leave a little time to admire what you both made.
Who would be your painting partner? I’d love to see your watercolor apples! 🎨
